Introduction
The Department of Physiotherapy of the Rehabilitation Faculty of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences officially started its activity in 1366 by accepting the first batch of undergraduate students. At first, it started its activity as a subset of paramedical faculty by recruiting the first batch of students. In 1368, with the approval of the Faculty of Rehabilitation, it started its independent activity. With the progress of the group and the addition of new professors, and with the approval of the Physiotherapy Specialized Board in the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, the admission of students began in 2013 in the master's degree and in 2017 in the specialized doctoral degree, and now the physiotherapy department has three levels. Accepts bachelor's, master's and PHD students. The physiotherapy department, with its experienced staff including two full professors, 4 associate professors, and 6 assistant professors, plays a significant role in training specialists and providing quality medical services. The membership of the professors of the group in the specialized board of physiotherapy and also in the evaluation commission of basic sciences of the Ministry of Health indicates the valuable role of this group in the macro-politics of the field of physiotherapy in
Iran. Currently, having various physiotherapy departments in university hospitals, including Luqman, Mofid, Akhtar, Shohada, Panzadaheh Khordad, Taleghani, Imam Hossein, Labafinejad and Masih Deneshvari hospitals, it is possible to provide specialized training to learners in the field of rehabilitation in brain diseases and There are neurology, orthopedics, NICU, cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, cerebral palsy children's physiotherapy, hemophilia, pelvic floor disorders, correction and examination of walking patterns at higher education levels.
