Introduction

Occupational therapy is the use of assessment and intervention to develop, recover, or maintain the meaningful activities, or occupations, of individuals, groups, or communities.

To practice Occupational therapist in Iran, one must possess a Bachelor's or a Master’s degree in Occupational therapy and be registered with Medical Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRIMC). Occupational therapists, who continue their education towards PhD, can work at universities or research institutes.

History of The Department

The Department of Occupational therapist was first established in 1992as physiotherapy BSc program in School of Rehabilitation, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. Then, its Master degree was also offered in 2006.
